The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) recently launched a new automatic Lost & Stolen Gadget System (LSDS) for preventing citizen’s lost, stolen, plus snatched mobile phones with ease plus convenience.
The particular LSDS is an automated system that is integrated with PTA’s Device Id, Registration, and Blocking System (DIRBS) and enables the complainants arranging a request with the PTA for blocking the IMEI of such handset to avoid it from potential misuse.
Previously, cell phones could be blocked or unblocked by calling PTA’s toll-free number or emailing PTA or through CPLC Karachi helplines. However , these mediums are no longer functional after the launch of the new system.

1- Check out PTA’s Issue Management System (CMS)
2- Your following details
3- Check the package for “Acknowledging” the terms and conditions given at the end
4- Click on “Register Complaint”
5- You will receive a complaint reference amount upon successful registration from the blocking request and the cell phone will be blocked within 24 hours of reporting after essential verification.
Note: You can follow the same process in order to unblock the mobile phone.
How to examine the status of the phone?
The standing of blocking can be examined after 16 working hrs of reporting.
You can check the status within the following ways
- Send 15-digit IMEI to 8484
- Check the position of the device via the google android application (DVS)
Once blocked, the following status shall be displayed contrary to the stolen IMEI search
“Your mobile gadget (IMEI #) is clogged (reported stolen/lost/misused to PTA)”
Take note: PTA’s requirement is only limited to blocking mobile phones. In order to trace/track stolen phones, local police me end up being approached.
